Item Description
Each is 7/8". All but one is complete w/American Badge Co. of Chicago back paper. Nice portrait photos showing all in Cubs uniforms, their last name below image. The 1937 Chicago Cubs finished in second place in the National League with a final record of 93-61 under manager, Charlie Grimm. This ball club was led offensively by a pair of future National Baseball Hall of Famers, Gabby Hartnett (C) & Billy Herman (2B). Also having a very strong season in 1937 was outfielder, Frank Demaree, who led the team in RBI's with 115. The pitching staff was led by a pair of 16 game winners, Tex Carleton & Larry French. Set of 18 buttons includes virtually everyone on the club's 1937 roster: Cavarretta, Collins, Galan, Carleton, Bryant, French, Bottarini, Demaree, Davis, Frey, Grimm, Hartnett, Hack, Herman, Jurges, Lee, Marty (missing back paper), O'Dea, Parmelee, Root, Shoun, and Stainback. Scattered minor traces of surface wear but overall set is glossy and Exc to NM. The only full set we've offered in our 54 years. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
