Item Description
11.25x16.5" DC Comics artboard and 11x16-3/8" sheet of vellum has pen and ink original art for page in Who's Who: The Definitive Directory Of The DC Universe Vol. 1 #2, published by DC April 1985. Art is by Dick Giordano and Mike DeCarlo and artboard features total of four images, depicting three of Batman's vehicles - the Batplane, Batcopter and Batboat as well as a smaller image of Batplane silhouette as seen from below. Each has faint penciled name below art. DeCarlo's name penciled at top w/both artists' names in blue pencil at bottom. Back has DC copyright inkstamp. Artboard has some scattered lt. dust soiling and handling wear but art remains clean and Exc. For published page, Batcopter was excised and replaced w/art seen on vellum sheet. Vellum has 4x4" corner cut out (not affecting art) and Golden and Silver Age versions of the Batplane, which replaced the Batcopter on published page. However, art has top of Golden Age Batplane's tail cover by Silver Age Batplane. They were separated for publication. DeCarlo's name appears in blue pencil at bottom. 2.5" tear at corner of cut area, this tear crosses wingtips of both Batplanes at right. Not overly distracting and art could be matted and framed for nice display.
