Item Description
Certificate and membership kits for this club were issued in many different configurations from 1939 to 1965. Over the years a number of changes were made from simply updating the copyright to notable text changes in the letter and on the folder. This is one of the final years of the club. Lot includes six items - mailing envelope w/"Supermen Of America" return address, both blue and black color varieties of the welcome letter (which mention World's Finest and Jimmy Olsen comics), certificate (that mentions Superman and Action Comics), secret code folder and 1.25" dia. pinback button. Both certificate and code folder bear 1960 copyright date. Mailing envelope shows scattered handling wear and is Fine. Certificate has typed recipient name/address and has horizontal fold as mailed. Faint horizontal crease across top and bottom. VF. Letters, code folder and button are Exc. See following lot for updated 1961 club kit. David Barsalou Collection.
