Item Description
See previous lot for 1960 version of this club kit. Certificate and membership kits for this club were issued in many different configurations from 1939 to 1965. Over the years a number of changes were made from simply updating the copyright to notable text changes in the letter and on the folder and many collectors may not be aware of the subtle differences between the 1960 and 1961 club kits. This is one of the final years of the club. Offered here are four items (missing only envelope) from the 1961 Supermen Of America club kit, each piece bearing 1961 NPP copyright date. They include - welcome letter (which mentions Lois Lane, World's Finest, Jimmy Olsen, Superboy and Adventure Comics), certificate w/typed recipient name/address, secret code folder and 1.25" dia. pinback button. Welcome letter and certificate have folds at/near center as mailed, but o/w all items are Exc. See following item.David Barsalou Collection.
