Item Description
16x24" screened on pink card stock. Promoting "An Endless Valentines Day All-Night Party" on "Feb 11th" from "10pm Til Dawn" w/additional acts Queen Elizabeth featuring Wayne County, Ruby and the Rednecks, Eric Emmerson & The Magic Tramps, John Blair, Novak, Suicide (as Alan Suicide) and "Many Other Surprise Guests." Though not printed on the poster this show occurred at The Mercer Arts Center, the omission indicates that this piece was intended to be displayed at the venue. Tiny crease in top left corner and horizontal bend at top right. Otherwise light handling from being rolled. Extremely Fine. The fabled location at the base of the Grand Hotel featured multiple performance spaces and was among the most important early 1970s venues in NYC becoming a magnet for many of the eras proto-punk groups. The New York Dolls called the venue's "Blue Room" home every Tuesday night for nearly a year. These events quickly became a hip attraction, drawing in attendees like Elton John, Andy Warhol, David Bowie, Fran Lebowitz and more. Six months after this concert the venue would implode in a heap of rubble when the hotel collapsed.
