Item Description
22x35" on cardboard w/"Globe Poster" credit at bottom center. Promoting the "Brute's Annual Summer Arts Festival And Camp In" from Friday Aug. 23 to 25 at the "Take It Easy Ranch" in "Calloway, MD." Among the acts performing during the "72 Hours Of Continuous Entertainment" was "Special Guest Gil-Scott Heron" whose spoken word song The Revolution Will Not Be Televised was a rallying cry for the Black Power civil rights movement in the early 1970s. Damp stain at lower left and along top right from corner extending to near center. Small loss at bottom right corner and handling wear including stress lines and short edge tears. Good. Scott-Heron is widely considered to be a godfather of hip-hop and is counted as an influence from a bevy of artists across the spectrum of music, poetry and pop culture. Earlier this year (2021) Heron was a recipient of the Early Influence Award when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This is the only example of this poster we've encountered.
