Item Description
Smaller style cello wrapped silvered brass at 2.25" tall. Reverse text for "City of New York" business named in our title plus name of maker W&H. There are numerous paintings titled Sultan's Favorite. This seems to be c. 1905 and an W&H artist's adaptation of a famous one by French artist Henri Adrien Tanoux. By her left arm is tiny text "Copyright 1900". Additional text on side panels including a trio of three digit "Madison Square" telephone numbers. Silvering off the match striker but rest is NM. Rare. Alan Weinberg Collection.
