Item Description
17x25.25" on thin glossy stock produced before the show for promotion. Signed in print at lower right "Frank & Stein." Promoting "Two Shows" on "Wednesday July 30" at the Terrace Ballroom in SLC, UT. Vivid color on this especially alluring poster featuring the "Led Zeppelin" dirigible flying above a split sun/moon design at center with rope tethering the blimp to the ground at left with wildflowers in the foreground. A less than 1.5" vertical tear at bottom center affecting the first "E" in "Wednesday," tack holes and losses in corners, scattered edge shipping and faint dots of foxing. Surface paper loss on reverse at bottom l/r corners that remain stable. Good. This extremely rare Zeppelin poster is easily among the most visually captivating pieces featuring the band all while concisely capturing the spirit of the era. This one was clearly posted and adored over the years it remains highly displayable as is and is offered in as found condition with no restoration. The English quartet was touring in support of their self-titled first album while still establishing their prowess to North American audiences opening for American band Vanilla Fudge. As their extensive touring continued their status as one of the foremost bands of the era rose. On this night they made the point to the 4,000 capacity room w/contemporary reporting indicating Led Zeppelin owned both shows, a sentiment further confirmed by the many enthusiastic reviews from concert goers found online. Only the fourth known to us and the first we can recall seeing in commerce. A special opportunity to obtain a trophy Zeppelin rarity.
