Item Description
From the same set as lot #782. Card front reads "Santa Clara B.B.C. Wardfield- Infielder." Warfield was an infielder and manager in the Negro leagues. He led Hilldale to consecutive Eastern Colored League pennants in 1924-1925, including a World Series victory in the latter season. He also managed the Baltimore Black Sox to the only American Negro League pennant, in 1929.
