Item Description
Pair of 11" tall dolls made in Spain by Spanish dollmaker Ernesto Cahn. This company made a wonderful line of Disney authorized dolls in the 1930s, exclusively for the European market. All are rare as production was low. Their only markings were string tags; both dolls offered here do not include tags. Dolls have high quality mohair bodies w/felt hats, clothing and hands. Each doll's nose, mouth/tongue and hoof tips are also felt and eyes are glass. Dolls have movable arms and wire inserts in fingers, ears and tail for posing. Fifer Pig comes w/wooden fife, which he holds in his hands. Practical Pig holds metal and wooden cement trowel in hand. Dolls are evenly aged and white felt hats show moderate dust soiling. Tip of Fifer Pig's nose has tiny insect hole and bottoms of both pigs feet show similar wear. Still display VF overall. As nice as any vintage Three Little Pigs doll ever made. Comes w/vintage 5.5x7.5" photo showing all three Ernesto Chan Pigs dolls. Photo was used for promotional/publicity purposes as noted by Spanish insktamp on back. Only example we've seen.
