Item Description
From the same set as lot #782. Card front reads "Marianao B.B.C. Cooney-Infielder". Jimmy Cooney, nicknamed "Scoops", had a seven year career in the major leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, and Boston Braves. He was a career .262 hitter with 150 RBIs over 448 games and was only the sixth player in the modern era to turn an unassisted triple play. Cooney had a father named Jimmy Sr. and a younger brother named Johnny who also played in the Major Leagues.
