Item Description
SOS was a Warren-esque comic magazine, published in Spain by Valenciana 1948-1984, w/four well-differentiated periods, existing first as a humor magazine before transitioning to a horror anthology format. This issue is from the "third stage," which ran for 58 issues. Offered here is the cover to SOS #39, published in 1982. 10.75x15.25" artboard w/attached vellum overlay features mixed media original art for cover, featuring mummy (bearing more than a passing resemblance to Lon Chaney Jr.'s Kharis from the Universal Mummy film series) striking down man in Egyptian tomb. This ties into first story in this issue and has inked title at top margin. Artist is unknown as art is unsigned. Exc. Comes w/reading copy of the comic this cover art was created for.
