Item Description
From same rare set as lot #888. George McQuillan. Philadelphia Phillies. He played for the team from 1907 to 1910 and then from 1915-1916. In 1907 he set one of the longest standing records in major league history when he pitched 25 innings before giving up the first earned run of his career. The record stood for 101 years. He also remains the Phillies career leader in ERA (1.79). Trace of surface oxidation on metal back. Minor surface wear under magnification. Glossy, Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collecton.
