Item Description
40.75x79.5" three-sheet movie poster for the original release of the 1942 Republic 12 chapter serial starring Kane Richmond as Spy Smasher, his alter ego Alan Armstrong and his own twin brother. Top half of poster is dominated by great full body image of Spy Smasher w/tommy gun while bottom half has images from serial. Issued in two parts and folded as issued, poster has been linen-mounted and rolled. Upper third has left margin fill as these poster sections were often produced misaligned. Scattered restoration along margins, fold lines and fold crease intersections including some color touch-ups. These are most noticeable to image of Spy Smasher on motorcycle at lower right and along center vertical fold line on main Spy Smasher image at top (green areas of costume). Fine overall, but still displays nicely.
