Item Description
Dark blue cotton jacket w/gray cotton snap-on chest piece and embroidered insignia. 18.5" wide at shoulders, 21.5" tall w/23.5" long sleeves. Jacket offered here represents one of the only known pieces to have survived from Rocky Jones, Space Ranger, an important early TV program that aired April-July, 1954. Jacket's militaristic design was a huge influence on uniforms from later Sci-Fi series like Star Trek and Lost In Space. As budgets were very limited for TV programs of this era, it's likely this jacket was worn by both series regulars and guest stars. Scattered aging and slight overall fade. Embroidered "Space Ranger" name on shoulder has .5" tear at bottom and opposite sleeve has small hole at cuff. Trace oxidation to metal clasp on bottom front of jacket. Fine overall.
