Item Description
1.5". Kant Novelty Co. of Pittsburgh back paper. Spring pin holds ribbon attached to a two-piece tin litho baseball that includes "stitching" and is marked "Made In Germany." In our June 2021 auction we offered the Muchinsky version w/leather baseball attachment and it realized $720. The 1925 Pirates dominated the NL, finishing with a regular season record of 95-58 under National Baseball Hall of Fame manager Bill McKechnie. Leading the offense that season was a trio of future Hall of Famers: Pie Traynor (3B), Kiki Cuyler (OF) and Max Carey (OF). Pittsburgh would go on to defeat the Washington Senators in the 1925 World Series. Ribbon frayed but still firmly intact. Ball has scattered wear and aging, Fine. Button itself is glossy and Exc.
