Item Description
1.75". No maker. Spring pin holds ribbons and string that has attached metal chain w/plastic glove and ball. Same photo was also used on a 1924 pennant winners button but done in bluetone. Walter Johnson, nicknamed "The Big Train", was the most dominant MLB pitcher of the 1910s and well into the 1920s, finishing his career with a final record of 417-279, an ERA of 2.17 and 3,509 strikeouts to go along with a MLB record 110 career shutouts and ultimately gained election into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. Minor surface wear only seen in reflected light. Still glossy, Exc. The Muchinsky example of this button sold for $1,817 in our Feb. 2021 auction.
