Item Description
First Hake's has offered of this variation. 1.5". Samuel H. Moss, Inc. New York on rim curl. Photo at center of Jackie in Brooklyn Dodgers cap. Text above and below "Tells His Story In The Brooklyn Eagle" along with letter "S." Buttons were issued with each letter of his name with prizes awarded for completing the set. These were issued by the Brooklyn newspaper who ran a series of articles on Jackie's story of entering the Major Leagues. All of these are rare with few known examples, regardless of letter, but this "S" version is the only example we have seen. In our June 2021 auction we offered two examples from the Muchinsnky collection: "J" which sold for $5,581 and "N" which sold for $2,697. Has slightest trace of surface oxidation on metal back. Front has trivial wear under magnification. Totally bright, clean and Exc. These are among the most sought after of all Jackie buttons.
