Item Description
11x17" photocopy (xerographic print) on thin white stock produced before the show for promotion. Soundgarden opening for the Chuck Mosley fronted Faith No More on October 10 at The Central Tavern in Seattle, WA w/additional act Terry Lee Hale. The gig occurred only four months after Soundgarden's debut release on the seminal Deep Six record compilation, the first album to feature early grunge bands that also included Green River, Skin Yard, Malfunkshun, the U-Men and the Melvins. Soundgarden featured Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Hiro Yamamoto and had only recently added drummer Matt Cameron. A well flattened horizontal fold at center and light handling most notably in top margin. VF. Faith No More and Soundgarden went on to massive acclaim but were unknown to listeners outside of the hyper-niche underground rock scene in 1986 w/Soundgarden having yet to play a gig outside of the Northwest.

This gig was so early that Soundgarden was yet to be associated w/burgeoning record label Sub Pop. After an earlier show in 1985 Jonathan Poneman approached the band offering to fund their release. Guitarist Thayil, who had moved to Seattle w/Yamamoto and Sub Pop founder Bruce Pavitt, made the fateful introduction that led to Sub Pop becoming a full fledge record label. Poneman put up $20,000 to help fund the 1987 releases of single, "Hunted Down" and EP, "Screaming Life" becoming a 50% partner w/Pavitt.
