Item Description
11x17" blank back offset print on thin stock produced before the show for promotion. Signed in pencil at lower right by artist Mike King. Illustrated in black & white in the King, Herring & Gore authored book Maximum Plunder on p. 134. Advertising a Nirvana, Mudhoney, Poison Idea and Calamity Jane concert "In A Special Performance To Benefit The No 9 Campaign" on "Sat. Aug. 22" at "Portland Meadows." Small loss at top right corner, short horizontal margin tear at top right, corner crease at bottom right and a well flattened horizontal crease. Reverse has surface paper lifts affecting top l/r corners, a piece of clear tape at bottom center and a "4-17-93 $5.99" price sticker on reverse. Fine. Displaying nicely and will frame beautifully. This show was rescheduled for Sep. 11, 1992 after the birth of Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean. The concert was in support of defeating the 1992 ballot measure requiring "All Governments In Oregon May Not Use Their Monies Or Properties To Promote, Encourage Or Facilitate Homosexuality, Pedophilia, Sadism Of Masochism." Ultimately the measure didn't pass and formed the basis for much of the gay rights activism.
