Item Description
3.5" w/concave metal back and horizontal bar pin. High contrast portrait flanked by NY star, "V" and Morse code for victory. Typical minor surface wear only in reflected light. Exc. Superlative construction and razor sharp clarity make this an impressive NYC local. O'Dwyer had lost in 1941 choosing to join the army where he was later awarded the Legion of Merit. With the support of Tammany Hall he easily won the Democratic nomination in 1945 and won the election in a landslide.
