7.25x10.5" TLS on "Harry S Truman/ Independence, Missouri" letterhead dated July 15, 1959. Signed in black fountain pen ink "Harry Truman" at conclusion. Addressed to appellate court clerk James R McLaughlin of Mount Vernon,  Illinois. An amusing response by Truman regarding an invitation to a fundraising dinner which was to include Senator Douglas, Mayor Daley, Eddie Barrett, and Congressman Price of Illinois. Content includes "If No One Thinks There Is A Possibility Of Me Stirring Up Trouble In Illinois." Affixed to backing paper at top corners and center. Two horizontal mailing folds and light handling. VF. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
