Item Description
Each is 1.25" and both have W&H back paper in use 1900-1912. Both buttons carry the brand name Laflin & Rand. However, the typically seen version carries the words on the flag "Infallible Smokeless" while the rarity carries the words "Smokeless Powder". The standard button is Exc. On the variety, the cream rim has toned some with very faint gray age traces and a tiny 1/16" shallow cello cut at 8 o'clock age. The gold color is also a bit darker but button retains its full gloss and is Fine. We cannot find any other offering of this rare variety.
