Item Description
7/8" w/"Humane Supply Co. Medina, Ohio" back paper. Tiny gray marks in field most notably at left of portrait. VF. Structurally sound w/full gloss. Debs was a hopeful for nomination by the National People's Party, more commonly known as the Populist Party. This button would have been made before the July 24-26, 1896 Populist Convention in St. Louis. The convention ended up endorsing the Democratic nominee Bryan, who favored many Populist ideas, and their own Thomas Watson for VP.
