Item Description
8.25" silk. Single day event ribbon for Bryan's first presidential notification. The short lived National Silver Party followed the Populist Party in nominating Bryan, helping to coalesce the burgeoning west around the Nebraska Orator. Faint moisture marks, most notably at bottom right and a horizontal fabric pull in field above "Lincoln, Neb." Fine. The party was especially prominent in Nevada where the silver mines that emerged around the great silver discovery, the Comstock Lode, had become intricately tied w/westward expansion. Larry Brokofsky Collection.
