Item Description
SOS was a Warren-esque comic magazine, published in Spain by Valenciana 1948-1984, w/four well-differentiated periods, existing first as a humor magazine before transitioning to a horror anthology format. This issue is from the "third stage," which ran for 58 issues. Offered here is the cover to SOS #53, published in 1983. 10x14-3/8" artboard features mixed media original art for cover, featuring monstrous face looming over woman being attacked by trio of wolves. This ties into first story in this issue and has title/issue number in pencil at top margin. Three thin strips of tape staining along top margin as overlay was once attached. Exc. Comes w/reading copy of the comic this cover art was created for.
