Item Description
22" tall hard plastic toy w/attached remote control battery box unit. 1960s. Toy features great design, Garloo wears a leopard print fabric loincloth. Worked when tested and remote is used to control three separate functions - forward/backward motion, opening/closing arms, body from waist up moves up and down. Comes w/original "Garloo" plastic necklace on string around neck. Includes nicely made repro of the 5.5" dia. cardboard "Garloo Serving Tray" that was designed to be punched out of front of Garloo's original cardboard box and instruction sheet. Small tear in center of tray and edge tear on instructions. All foam attachments on inside of Garloo's hands and at shoulders are expertly crafted/applied replacements and are a perfect match to the originals, which are almost always missing. Garloo shows scattered traces of wear and aging w/large area of tape residue staining on left shoulder, some scattered melt marks to one arm, aging to glue at shoulder seams and some rubs to raised portions of face. Oxidized chain on one wrist. Back of battery case shows moderate aging/wear, but toy is still a nice example and Fine overall. Classic Marx toy.
