Item Description
2.25" button w/5.75" long tag attached by spring pin on reverse. Both unlisted in Hake. Tag has bold text "Vote For Roosevelt And Truman" w/small text at bottom "Massachusetts Independent Voters Committee For Roosevelt And Truman/George W. Coleman, Chairman Hotel Touraine, Boston, Mass." Card has obvious horizontal creases throughout, VG. Button has light surface wear from minimal use, Exc. We know of only a handful of examples of this button and the tag is the first we've seen in our 55 years. Tobin was Boston mayor 1938-1945 and this is from his 1944 gubernatorial campaign in which he was successful. He also served as Truman's Secretary of Labor 1948-1953.
