Item Description
22x34" blueprints feature design schematics for unproduced Bacta Tank playset from Kenner's popular 1982 Star Wars Micro Collection toyline. Due to an unenthusiastic response at retail to the 1982 Micro Collection toyline, Kenner decided to end the Micro Collections, including a number of pieces they had in development for 1983. The ambitious plans included sets for Jabba's Throne and Boiler rooms, the Emperor's Throne Room, an Ewok Bunker and Dagobah, as well as newly-sculpted figures that would have been included w/them. Perhaps the best known of these sets are the two that came closest to full-scale production - the Torture Chamber addition to the Bespin World environment and the Hoth Bacta Chamber playset. Prototypes exist for these two sets in finished, production form (as well as early examples of packaging), but neither were put into production. Production molds appear to have been made, though only one example of each finished playset is known to exist today. Blueprints offered here feature "Chamber Top" view of set. Sheet has sequence numbers in a set of several prints and bears signoff signatures/initials as well as 1982 revision dates. Lower right notes "Drawn By GFN." Sheet has been folded into eighths and has aging along fold lines. Fine/VF. Schematics offer interesting insight into the unproduced Micro Collection piece. Comes with notarized Collectible Investment Brokerage (CIB) LOA. Gus Lopez Collection.
