Item Description
28.25" long plastic lightsaber toy w/Star Wars label on handle w/approx. 2x7" display card w/"Star Wars - Light Saber" name and Japanese text as this was made in Japan for the Japanese market by Takara in 1979, ©1977 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. This Japanese toy differed from its American counterparts in design, packaging and the added feature of the ability to alter the color of light emitted by the lightsaber, by changing transparent discs at the base of the "blade." These discs are not included. Blade handle has wrist strap. Handle label has scattered age spotting. Blade remains sheathed in original plastic bag w/display card at base as issued. Display card shows wear w/moderate creasing and is Fine. Toy itself has some tape staining to blade and is Fine/VF overall. Unused and untested. Rare Takara piece.
