Item Description
1" litho w/Chicago union bug on reverse. Likely issued by the Communist affiliated International Labor Defense. Scattered dots of missing paint consistent w/moderate use. Fine. Scarce. The Italian immigrants were convicted of killing a paymaster at Slater & Morrill Show Co. in 1921 after a trial that saw heavy influence from anti-Anarchist and anti-immigrant sentiments. The pair became a cause célèbre and despite a series of appeals were electrocuted in 1927.
