Item Description
24x36" poster features image of Gabby Hartnett (1900-1972), who played almost his entire career w/the Chicago Cubs as a catcher 1922-1940 before spending his final MLB season as a player/coach for the New York Giants in 1941. He was a six-time All-Star and NL MVP in 1935. Inducted into the National Baseball HOF in 1955. Poster was printed in 1944 as part of the Homefront effort, w/"Work Together - Prosper Together" slogan. Hartnett appears in Cubs uniform (which peeks out from behind his catcher's pads). 3" tear at upper left w/archival tape repair on reverse. Scattered edge wear w/a few .5" to .75" tears and moderate wear at bottom left corner. Poster has some scattered surface indentations w/a few .25" punctures. VG overall. Scarce World War II poster.
