Item Description
5x3.5x2.75" tall. Heavy cardboard box w/padded velvet pin cushion on top lid featuring crossed American flags and slogan "Victory For Adams" at center. When opened an etched portrait of Adams is found under glass on underside of lid. Amazingly the thin paper hinge keeping the lid attached remains mostly intact w/a 1" separation along left edge. These are almost never attached. This fact combined w/only moderate exterior wear makes this the finest example we have encountered in our 55 years. These boxes were made in a variety of sizes and shapes w/different cushions featuring different slogans. This example is the largest and its cushion, mentioning Adams by name, is the most highly coveted. See previous lot for rare matching Jackson.
