Item Description
The five buttons in this set are usually seen in the 7/8" size. This is the much scarcer 1.25" size with name of maker on curl "Economy Novelty Co. N.Y.C." The buttons in this set portray the movie stars Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Jack Haley, Ray Bolger, and Bert Lahr each in their movie role. In the 1.25" size, each carries a serial number (in this case 6728) apparently used in a contest or for the awarding of prizes by whatever movie theater was showing the movie at the time. Given the rarity of these most likely that was a single theater somewhere in NYC. About 1/32" of- center. In reflected light, all over but not deep hairline scratches. Full gloss. VF. Rare.
