Item Description
Each is 1.25" with the last (Solly Smith) having a W&H/Cameo Gum back paper. See previous lot for John L. Sullivan for background info on this company and the lack of contrast on these real photo (without dot screen) buttons on photographic paper. These images are not faded but as developed. Good detail but magnification helps. Buttons 1 and 3 have smooth circle near the outer rim while buttons 2 and 4 have an outline with scalloped edge. Boxer name appears on each and these are: "Johnny Griffin/African-American "Peter Jackson" (4 mere pinpoint nicks at 10 o'clock rim)/"Tommy Ryan, Of Syracuse" (surface pinhole near his left nipple)/"Solly Smith" (cello is pressed in, so flat not a  domed surface to the touch). Aside from the contrast, all are glossy and without stain. Overall VF with issues as noted.
