Item Description
1-1/8" (29mm). Copper. Attributed by DeWitt to Van Buren's 1848 campaign and listed as MVB-1848-3. Recent research indicates these were issued to promote the Homestead Act in the early 1840s. Holed for suspension. Smoothing from circulation not affecting predominant counter stamping. Fine.
