Item Description
1.25". c. 1941. The National Negro Congress sponsored pickets in Washington, DC at the Office of War Production in 1941 pressuring the agency to integrate the Glenn L. Martin aircraft factory outside Baltimore, MD. Ultimately the Glen L. Martin firm hired 5,000 African Americans though a scant few were to skilled jobs within the factory. Faint age in cream background. Otherwise only light surface wear in reflected light. Exc. Only the fourth we can recall encountering.
