Item Description
10x14.5" thick artboard has mixed media original art by prolific and renowned Spanish Comics cover artist Rafael López Espí. Cover is for Super Heroes Presenta: Spider-Man Y El Capitan Britania Vol.2 #91, which reprints Marvel Team-Up #65-66 by John Byrne. Published in Spain ©1978 Marvel Comics Group. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/art showing a bold early costumed Captain Britain and spotlight on Spider-Man on wall. Original image by Espí. Back of artboard has handwritten "S. Heroes, 91" at top in pencil. Art remains bright and clean. Art has chipping on edges and some other small spots but none on characters. Small piece of tissue overlay w/notes comes along. Still displays Fine. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish comic books, featuring one of the Marvel's most popular characters and is unsigned by artist. Superb and dynamic cover art. Comes w/reading copy of the Spanish comic this cover art was created for.
