Item Description
1.25" w/St. Louis Button Co. back paper. Attractive design featuring waving American flag at bottom center and perched eagle at top w/sunburst in background. Among the rarest and most sought after Harding/Coolidge jugates. Two tiny and faint dots of foxing on the extreme outer edge at 2 o'clock. Otherwise only minor traces of typical wear. Extremely Fine w/near perfect centering, free of cracks and displaying beautifully. We have encountered six examples in our 55 years and all but two were in a lower grade. One of the two pristine examples crossed our auction block in 2013 selling for $29,601 and no examples of a higher grade have been offered publicly since. This button and the matching 7/8" Cox/Roosevelt found in the previous lot are new discoveries, having been recently obtained at an estate sale in the middle west.
