Item Description
9x9-5/8" album w/20 pages, containing complete set of 180 thin paper color-tinted cards; each is 2x2-7/8" and mounted at appropriate spots along top, so that they can be lifted to view numbers underneath. Issued in Spain by Fher (known for their album and card sets), 1940s. One of two different Captain Marvel albums released by Fher (see following lot). Great cover art features Captain Marvel and villain The Scorpion. Pages feature Spanish captions by each card (which features photo images as opposed to art as seen in other set), telling the story of the 1941 Adventures Of Captain Marvel Republic movie serial, which starred Tom Tyler and Frank Coghlan Jr. in the title role. Cover is evenly aged w/staple rusting and some handling wear. Pages have some rippling as cards were applied. Fine overall. Cards are overall EX to NM as mounted. Scarce as complete.
