Item Description
These cards were issued by two different companies in Spain during the 1930s, a winery and those offered here, w/imprint on back for "Chocolate Amatller, Barcelona." Complete set of 36 numbered cards, each 2.75x4-1/8". Choice full color art fronts, backs have text for that image and set title that translates to "Rabin's Treasure." Story deals w/Mickey Mouse guarding safe w/gun only to fall asleep, allowing Rabin (a cat) to loot it. Mickey gives chase by bicycle, boat, foot, train and by plane before parachuting after Rabin. They eventually land in Russia, where the chase continues on sleighs, allowing Rabin to escape to Japan and then India (where Rabin rides an alligator) and Africa before Rabin catches a hot air balloon into space, where Mickey captures him and reclaims his prized chocolate (and revealing the contents of his safe from the start of the story). Art is signed "Ruiz." Card #1 has moderate dust soiling on front and is Fine. Rest of set has scattered lt. aging but remain clean w/vibrant art. Mostly EX. Rare foreign card issue.
