Item Description
6x9.25" w/eight pages. Given the scarcity of 19th century baseball scorecards, this 1898 example surpasses most others in terms of presentation as well as historical importance. In addition to much local advertising, nearly every Chicago team member is illustrated here (portrait images in dapper attire), including a pair of future National Baseball Hall of Famers, Clark Griffith and Frank Chance, during Chance's first professional baseball season of 1898. Date of July 30 inked on front cover, the game that day was won by Chicago 13-3. Program has been scored in pencil. Fold creases and handling wear. Still nice overall given its age and light paper stock. Fine.
