Item Description
19x28" poster features wonderful sequential psychedelic art by Rick Griffin (1944-1991), whose early art chores included providing cartoons for Surfer magazine. The pages of Surfer were graced by the presence of a little tow-headed character named Murph the Surf, who would continue to show up from time to time throughout the 1960s, including Rick's comic book work in Zap Comix. ©1969 John Severson Productions. This poster art also appeared in Rick's Tales From The Tube comic book, and it remains one of his most colorful and psychedelic efforts. Scattered handling/margins wear w/small tear to margin at lower right. Poster is VF overall, but could be framed for nice display. Scarce. Charles Lippincott Collection.
