Item Description
High quality dye transfer photograph is 12.5x18" dry mounted (as issued) on 20x24" art board. Iconic image of Jimi, one with his guitar, taken during his historic six performance run at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco during Oct. 10-12 of 1968. Matte is signed and annotated by Marshall just below the photograph in pencil "Jimi-1968/#4-50-Jim Marshall-1987." Back of board has Marshall's studio ink stamp w/inked date of 1987. Jim Marshall (1936-2010) was the only photographer allowed backstage at The Beatles' last concert, and was chief photographer at Woodstock. He famously photographed Jimi Hendrix setting his guitar on fire at the Monterey Pop Festival and Johnny Cash at San Quentin. Top margin of matte has a few tiny tape residue spots. Rest of matte is clean and Exc. while photo is NM.
