Item Description
During his Herculean efforts to promote George Lucas' upcoming Star Wars film, Charles Lippincott did promotion (the first of its kind) for the Sci-Fi epic at the 1976 San Diego Comic-Con, commissioning Howard Chaykin to create a special advance poster for the film, which Lippincott distributed at the show. Offered here is a lot of four items relating to that show, including the show program (filled w/great vintage specialty art and content), film/TV scheduling program, format sheet and program schedule, which notes presentation on "The Star Wars" July 22 w/Lippincott (misspelled on the schedule) and comic creators Roy Thomas and Chaykin. Scattered aging and lt. handling wear. Fine to VF overall. A interesting insight into the early days of Star Wars initial promotion run. Charles Lippincott Collection.
