Item Description
Large and impressive 39.25x55" poster for original Italian release of the classic 1977 Sci-Fi film by George Lucas. Poster features much more romanticized artwork by Michelangelo Papuzza, featuring a nearly bare-chested Luke Skywalker while Princess Leia is depicted showing decidedly more skin than typical for promotional materials for the first Star Wars film. Bold Italian "Guerre Stellari" title at bottom. Each corner has numerical code punches and poster is folded as issued, w/scattered wear along fold lines and at fold crease intersections w/some creases at left/right margins. Fine overall. Certainly among the largest and most impressive foreign release posters for the film that started the Star Wars phenomenon. Charles Lippincott Collection.
