Item Description
Large 23x29.25" Strathmore artboard w/pen and ink original art by Harry Tuthill (1885-1957) for Aug. 21, 1927 Sunday page that has been nicely hand-colored. Sunday page features total of 12 panels, w/four-panel Little Brother topper strip. "The Bungle Family" title stat and "George Should Have Got Two Baskets" story title and Tuthill name/copyright stats appear between the two comic strips. George Bungle endures slapstick hijinks trying to transport a bag of oranges home, only for orange after orange to fall out of bag. Back has been hand-addressed in pencil to McClure Syndicate. Artboard shows moderate margin wear w/corner foxing/chipping and .5" tear at top center. Margins have scattered pin holes; none affecting art, which remains clean for the most part. Fine overall, but would make for nice framed display.
