Item Description
17x22.25" archivally mounted to 18.75x24"cardstock by a paper conservator. Design features iconic image of Reed by photographer Mick Rock used for the cover of Reed's second solo album Transformer. Promotes a show at "Edwards Auditorium" on the University of Rhode Island campus. Restoration to repair a vertical tear at top center, tear at right just affecting microphone and edge/corner wear. Technically VG but displaying above grade and will frame beautifully. Reed, the former leader of the Velvet Underground, was touring in support of Transformer which had been released in Nov. of 1972. The album, co-produced by David Bowie and Mick Ronson, was a surprise commercial breakthrough propelling Reed to the top of the glam rock scene. The album's acclaim has only grown, achieving iconic status and often being mentioned among the 100 greatest albums of all time by a range of music publications.
