Item Description
11x17" offset print produced before the show for promotion. Art by Mike King w/an example of this same design used on the July 6 Salem Armory poster illustrated in the King, Herring & Gore authored book Maximum Plunder on p. 151. King adapted the iconic E. C. Segar character Popeye The Sailor, adding a flannel shirt and bandana for this gig flyer at the height of grunge madness. Additional bands fIREHOSE and Basehead opened the July 8, 1993 show at the Seattle Center Arena. Six sets of staple holes in corners and along r/l near center w/minor paper loss. Otherwise only light handling and trivial age. Fine. STP was still riding high on the success of their first album Core and alternative rock veterans Butthole Surfers were touring in support of their sixth album Independent Worm Saloon, which was produced by former Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones.
