Item Description
15/16" listed as DeWitt/Sullivan 1860-108. Purple plush is mint and complete with loop at top. Lincoln image with full name above is just a hair dark but image is easily visible and the surface of the ferrotype is essentially Mint as made, the only trivial defect being a pinpoint dot of some kind of residue which adhered to the emulsion in the making just to the right of his left eye. This pinpoint dot is invisible under most viewing angles. On the reverse is Hamlin with his name above. Again, the emulsion surface is totally glossy and essentially free of imperfections. A gorgeous example of the plush-rim style ferrotype and rarely seen in this Mint as made condition.
